Yes! Our primary goal is to ensure letters sound genuinely human—not robotic or templated. We fine-tune language based on your resume and context to create authentic, natural-sounding cover letters.

4. Is Cover Letter Copilot free to use?

We offer a free tier that allows you to generate one unblurred cover letter per day using GPT-4o. Additional letters on the same day will be blurred. For unlimited access, GPT-5, and advanced customization features, we offer paid subscription plans.

5. How do I cancel or manage my subscription?

You can cancel or manage your subscription at any time by going to your Account settings. From there, click "Manage Billing Info" to access Stripe's customer portal where you can:

• Update payment methods
• View billing history and download invoices
• Cancel your subscription
• Update billing information

Your subscription will remain active until the end of the current billing period if you cancel.

6. Can I upload my resume?

Yes! You can upload your resume as a PDF, and our system will automatically extract your experience information. We support OCR for scanned documents. Active and Elite subscribers can save multiple resumes for quick reuse.

7. What's the difference between GPT-4o and GPT-5?

GPT-5 (available to Elite subscribers) produces more sophisticated, nuanced cover letters with better understanding of context and job requirements. While GPT-4o creates good cover letters, GPT-5 excels at capturing subtle details and creating more compelling narratives.

8. Can I customize my cover letters?

Yes! All users can edit generated letters in our rich text editor. Elite subscribers get advanced customization options including salutation choice, word count control, and writing style selection (3-paragraph format, summarized qualities, or career highlights).

9. How long does it take to generate a cover letter?

Most cover letters are generated in under 60 seconds. During generation, you'll see motivational messages to keep you engaged. The exact time may vary slightly based on the complexity of your request and current system load.

10. Can I download my cover letter?

Yes! All users can download their cover letters as PDF files. Simply click the "Download PDF" button after your letter is generated. The PDF will be professionally formatted and ready to attach to your job application.

11. What if I'm not satisfied with the generated letter?

You can regenerate your cover letter as many times as you'd like. Each generation may produce slightly different results. You can also edit the content directly in our editor to fine-tune any parts you want to change.

12. Do I need to provide the job description?

While not strictly required, providing the job description significantly improves the quality and relevance of your cover letter. Our AI uses it to tailor your letter to the specific role, highlighting relevant skills and experiences.

13. Is there a character limit for inputs?

Yes, both the prior experience and job description fields have a 4,000 character limit. This is plenty of space for most resumes and job postings. If you hit the limit, try focusing on the most relevant information.

14. What happens after my free daily letter?

Free users can generate one fully accessible cover letter per day. If you try to generate a second letter on the same day, it will be blurred (showing only the first 1-2 sentences) and you won't be able to copy or download it. You'll need to upgrade to a paid plan or wait until the next day.

15. What information do I need to provide?

At minimum, you need to provide your prior experience (or upload a resume) and ideally the job description. Job title and company name are optional but recommended. Your name is automatically filled from your account. The more context you provide, the better your cover letter will be.

16. Can I save my cover letters for later?

Saving cover letters is an Elite Navigator feature. Elite users can save multiple letters, organize them by job application, and return to edit them anytime. Free and Active Seeker users should download their letters as PDFs to save them locally.

17. Can I reuse my uploaded resume?

Yes! Active Seeker and Elite Navigator subscribers can save multiple resumes in their account. When creating a new cover letter, you can select from your saved resumes instead of uploading again. This makes it faster to apply to multiple jobs.

18. Will my cover letter pass ATS systems?

Yes! Our cover letters are formatted to be ATS-friendly. They use clean formatting without tables or graphics that might confuse applicant tracking systems. The PDF export maintains this compatibility while looking professional.
